At first the visa officer greetings us (It was something special cause first impression matter, we have seen 20+ candidates got rejected in front of us).
V: Hey, Good afternoon, how r u?
Me: Good afternoon sir! we are fine.
V: So, Both of your are applicant, Pass me your i20 and passport
Me: Here you are
V: Mr. Abdullah, tell me about your bachelor degree.
Me: Told
V: Do you have your academic papers?
Me: Here it is (Transcript, Certificate, Marksheet- Original copy)
V: So, you are from University of Dhaka?
Me: Yes Sir
V: Your passing year?
Me: 2017
V: But in your certificate it shows 2016.
Me: Explained (This is the exam year, and the result publishing date is called the graduation year), He pleased with that answer.
V: So, why Wright State University? don’t you get offer from others?
Me: Reasons described well with the name of program director Professor Goodrich. I have received another 3 offer from different universities (told with the university name).
V: Is she your first wife?
Me: 
yes sir
V: Do you have your nikahnama?
Me: Original Marriage Certificate and Nikahnama, He pleased with the documents
V: Young lady, who proposed first? How did you meet?
F-2: He proposed me first. At Farmgate, Dhaka (In a restaurant).
V: How did you proposed her, show me now 
Me: Just like a 17 years young boy proposing his dream girl with a stick of Rose. He pleased with the gesture.
V: So, tell me why you accept his proposal 
?
F-2: Described well with some fancy word 
V: So, you passed that test?
Me: To some extent yes sir, I passed.
V: So, who is sponsoring your study? do you have enough cash for both of your stay in US?
Me: Described well
V: Do you have your bank statement?
Me: Yes Sir, Here you go.
V: Your Father is sponsoring, what’s your father do?
Me: Described very well
V: Did you travel any country?
Me: Yes sir, India in 2018 but, She has no travel history.
V: Have you ever applied to US before? Or any other country?
Me: No, for education purpose no.
V: I mean any kind of visa(work or something like that)
Me: Yes sir, I have applied to Canada for work permit visa but got rejected for…..
He stopped me and said “No, means NO, you have nothing to do with that, but it doesn’t matter”
সে ইন্টারভিউ এর শুরু থেকেই কম্পিউটার স্ক্রিনে অনেক কিছু দেখছে ও লিখছে- এইবার প্রায় ১মিনিটের বেশি সময় নিলো-

চোখের সামনে অন্তত ২০+ ক্যান্ডিডেটকে দেখেছি ভিসা না দিতে, এই দৃশ্য বলে/লিখে বুঝানো যাবে না। শুধু একটা আপুকে ভিসা দিতে দেখেছি (And really she answered well with sufficient information & knowledge)। ৩ জন স্পাউসসহ দাড়িয়েছিলো আমাদের আগে, কাউকেই ভিসা দেয় নাই। এগুলা চোখের সামনে যখন ঘটতে দেখবেন তখন মানুষিকভাবে আপনি নিজেকে কতটা শক্তভাবে ধরে রাখতে পারেন সেটা অনেক বেশি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। আজকের অবস্থা ছিলো ভয়াবহ, বলা যায় ভিসা রেশিও ছিলো ১ঃ১০, ইভেন এর থেকেও কম।
কিছু গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কথা-
যারা ফুল ফান্ডেড না বিশেষ করে তাদের জন্য-
১। ফর-প্রফিট কলেজ বা ইউনিভার্সিটির আই-২০ নিয়ে এম্বাসিতে যাইয়েন না আর গেলেও খুব ভালো করে প্রস্তুতি নিয়ে যাবেন। ভিসা অফসার আপনার ইউনিভার্সিটি সম্পর্কে খুব ভালো করেই জানেন। পাবলিক/রিসার্চ ইন্সটিটিউট হলে খুব ই ভালো। প্রয়োজনে পাবলিকের আই-২০ নিয়ে ভিসা পান, এরপর ট্রান্সফার হয়ে যাইয়েন। যেমন- আমার সামনের ক্যান্ডিডেটকে জিগাইছে কেন ফর-প্রফিট ইউনিভার্সিটি? সে জানেই না ফর-প্রফিট কি, বা এটার উত্তর কি হবে। আমি শুনেছি সে কোনো উত্তর ই দিতে পারে নাই।
২। আপনি কেন ঐ প্রোগ্রাম/বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়/ইউএসএ যাবেন এটার মুখস্থ না, একটা নিজের তৈরি করা খুব চমৎকার উত্তর প্রস্তুত করে নিয়ে যাবেন। চেষ্টা কইরেন আপনার প্রোগ্রাম/রিসার্চ সংশ্লিষ্ট প্রফেসরকে উত্তরের মধ্যে আনতে, যা আপনার উত্তরকে অনেক বেশি সমৃদ্ধি করবে।
৩। “সততাই মূলমন্ত্র” কোনো তথ্য গোপন কইরেন না বা করার চেষ্টা কইরেন না। (আমি ৭ মাস আগে কানাডায় ওয়ার্ক পারমিট ভিসায় এপ্লাই করেছি সেই তথ্যও তাদের কাছে আছে)।
৪। “ফাইন্যান্সিয়াল ডকুমেন্টেশন” ডকুমেন্ট যা নিবেন সেটার উপর খুব ভালো করে জেনে বুঝে যাবেন। আপনার স্পন্সর এর পেশা, তার ব্যবসার ডিটেইলস ভালো করে রপ্ত করে যাবেন।
৫। “আপনার পোশাক ও অঙ্গভঙ্গি”- ভিসা অফিসার অন্ততপক্ষে দুইবার আমার ব্লেজার/চেহারা এগুলা খুব ভালো করে পরখ করেছে, আপনারটাও করতে পারে। তাই পরিপাটি হয়ে যাওয়াই সর্বোত্তম।
৬। “আপনার Attitude Matter” উত্তর দেয়ার সময় আপনার কনফিডেন্স লেভেল অবশ্যই উঁচুতম হওয়া চাই, আমার মনেহয় প্রত্যেকটা ভিসা অফিসারের মনস্তাত্ত্বিক ডিগ্রি আছে।
৬। আপনি যদি মনে করেন, পেন্ডামিকের মধ্যে যেমন- গেলেই ভিসা দিছে বাংলায় নাম জিজ্ঞাসা করে তাহলে আপনি ভুল সময়ের মধ্যে আছেন। এখন তারা ইন্টারভিউ নিবে আপনাকে ভিসা দেয়ার জন্য না, আপনাকে বাদ দেয়ার জন্য।
